The California Browncoats are once again taking part in the
Can’t Stop the Serenity worldwide charity event. 2010 is a special year, the milestone 5th year of CSTS! To celebrate, CABC decided to host a CSTS event during the largest pop culture event in America:
San Diego Comic-Con.
This also serves as a celebration of other milestones and anniversaries close to Browncoats and CABC. 5 years ago at Comic-Con, Joss Whedon screened a completed Serenity for the first time, a mere 2 days after it was finished. 2005 also saw the first Browncoat presence at Comic-Con. That year, Browncoats from across California helped to raise over $12,000 for Equality Now. As part of our Year of Equality Now, the California Browncoats are proud to host the San Diego Can’t Stop the Serenity event to benefit Equality Now.
And so, we present the details and ticket purchasing information you need:
Thursday July 22nd, 2010 at 10:00 PM
San Diego Gaslamp 15
701 Fifth Avenue
San Diego, CA 92101
(619) 232-0401
Tickets: $15.00 - Buy them on Fandango
(or here then click on the 10:00 PM Serenity screening)
We are pleased that special guest(s) are planning to attend the event*. Get your tickets early! With 100,000+ fans attending Comic-Con, this screening is sure to sell out.
You do not need a Comic-Con ticket to attend. You only need to purchase a ticket for this event. Everyone is welcome to attend.
If you would like to volunteer to help, please email James. We will need help up until the screening starts, so you won’t miss the movie.
*Special Guest appearances are subject to change based on their schedule and any possible conflicts.

The California Browncoats will be giving away
50 shiny prizes at WonderCon. How are we going to do this? How can you win a prize? How can you support Equality Now while you’re at it?
We’re glad we asked for you!
It’s the Stick Pull game!
Here’s the basic rundown:
Suggested Donation: $5 per pull (This is where supporting EN comes in)
Pull one set of chopsticks from the board.
No matter what, you keep that set of chopsticks! (Everyone’s a winner!)
If your chopsticks are marked with white at the tip, you win an additional prize! You can choose any one prize from the prize bin that will be presented to you.
That’s it! Donate to EN, get a set of chopsticks, and maybe you’ll go home with something extra. We’ll try and get a list of the prizes here before WonderCon, but if not, you can check them out at the booth. Let’s just say we’ve raided the CABC Prize Vault for some rare, exclusive, and usually signed items. For a paltry $5 suggested donation, how could you not play this game?!?!
